Our Company is certified from AGROCERT/ ELGO DIMITRA for the production of “Cretan rusks” which is a Protected Geographical Indication (PGI).
“Geographical indication” means the name of a region, a specific place or, in exceptional cases a country used to describe an agricultural product or a food product: originating from that region, specific place or that country, which possesses a specific quality, reputation or other characteristics attributable to that geographical origin, whose production and / or processing and / or processing take place in the defined geographical area.
The products of Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) and Protected Geographical Indication (PGI) are governed by Regulation 1151/2012. This Regulation gives the opportunity to each region and its producers to present quality products and to highlight their rich characteristics and special taste.
